A man died early Sunday morning after a single-vehicle collision on State Route 85 in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At approximately 2:25 a.m., the driver of an Alfa Romeo made what CHP called an “unsafe right turn” while traveling north on SR-85 south of Highway 87. The move caused the vehicle to veer off the road, where it collided came to a stop with a crash barrier and a metal highway side before the car came to rest on its left side.

The man, 25 from San Jose, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders around 2:43 a.m

CHP has not released any additional details. Identification from the Santa Clara County Coroners’ Office was pending notification to the next of kin.
