A mother has made a desperate plea for help finding her 13-year-old daughter after she disappeared from their home while police conducted an urgent helicopter search.

Demi West ran out the back door of her home in the Chantry area of ​​Ipswich early Saturday morning, her mother said.

Distraught mother Hayley West said her daughter, also known as Kaiden or Kai, had taken an “overdose” of an unidentified drug before leaving the house when an ambulance arrived.

Ms West said online that Demi has struggled with her mental health and “needs help”, adding that she has a “loving family”.

She added that her daughter was “very unwell” and would not play with friends or go anywhere without an adult.

Suffolk Police have enlisted the public’s help in finding the missing teenager and are urging residents in the area to check their gardens and sheds.

Officers also told dog walkers to remain vigilant when walking in nearby woods.

A helicopter has also been used in the search as police search for Demi in the area.

The 13-year-old is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall with short hair, dark on one side and blonde on the other.

She was last seen wearing a white top with yellow circles and blue lines, green sweatpants and sneakers.

Police said Demi may also be carrying a pink blanket and may be barefoot.

Officers added that both she and Demi’s family were concerned for her well-being.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said: ‘Police are now asking local residents to check their gardens, their sheds and outbuildings and look at any cameras they may have.

Dog walkers are also being asked to be vigilant when walking in woodland areas and to report any information that may help police.

“Anyone who believes they have seen Kaiden, or has information on their whereabouts, is asked to contact the sergeant on duty at Landmark House in Ipswich on 999.”
