The Houston Astros were cause for celebration for many in Texas this week, though probably no more than legend Mattress Mack of The Lone Star State.

The World Series win over Philadelphia netted the superfan – aka Jim McIngvale – an astonishing $75 million payday after betting a reported $10 million on his Astros.

McIngvale’s winnings now hold the record for the largest legal payout in US sports betting history.

The Texas furniture king picked up $10 million of his winnings from BetMGM in a wheelbarrow and moved it to a private jet in a video posted to his Twitter account.

He placed bets on the Astros winning the Fall Classic in multiple sportsbooks.

The Houston area Gallery Furniture owner, who threw the first pitch in Game 6, bet $3 million early in the season on the Astros to win the World Series over Caesars at 1/10 and also placed $1 million at WynnBet, according to Darren Roell.

In July, he upped the ante by placing four more bets, two worth $2 million and the other $1 million.

It looks like McIngvale won’t make a total of $75 million after launching a massive promotion across its Gallery Furniture stores.

If the Astros won the World Series, customers who spent $3,000 or more on select mattresses would get their purchase price back.

Along with video of the piles of cash, McIngvale wrote, “Hey Paul, where’s my weight belt?

It wasn’t all good news for the World Series champions, despite winning the MLB crown just six days ago.

Houston announced earlier Friday that it had said goodbye to general manager James Click.

Multiple reports confirmed that Click and the Astros could not continue together because he turned down the franchise’s one-year contract offer.

Houston released a statement Friday morning local time announcing Click would not be returning.

“We are grateful for all of James’ contributions,” said team owner Jim Crane via the release.

“We’ve had great success in each of his three seasons and James has been an important part of that success.

“I would like to personally thank him and wish him and his family all the best for the future.”
