‘We were super dominant’: Jurgen Klopp revels in Liverpool’s victory over AC Milan and praises the midfield, along with the ‘natural strength’ of the youngsters

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was pleased with his team’s performance in a ‘super dominant’ friendly win against AC Milan.

Goals from Mohamed Salah, Thiago Alcántara and two from Darwin Núñez gave Klopp’s side a 4-1 victory in their last friendly before returning to competitive action.

speaking to Liverpool After the match, Klopp spoke about how his team performed and how quickly returning World Cup players will be back in the squad.

Klopp said: ‘It was a really good game. There was one situation that I didn’t like: it was when we conceded the goal because it was just after a drinking break.

“Other than that, we were super dominant. We played a very good match. I liked how our midfield was connected, I liked our buildup.”

Liverpool were also able to take advantage of the friendly to give some of the younger players in the squad a few minutes and Klopp was impressed with his performance.

Klopp continued: “When you bring the children [in the] second half and you see Bobby Clark’s pass and Stefan’s whole performance [Bajcetic]Mel’s performance [Frauendorf] At right back and then there’s Ben Doak, 17, and he’s this kind of natural strength, it’s really cool to see.’

With games starting to build up following the conclusion of the World Cup, these young players could make an impact in the second half of the season.
