A British man staying at a Jamaican hotel has been accused of raping a female guest after asking him to borrow a phone charger.

Dewi Games, 29, a South Wales electrician, was given $400,000 (£343,000) bail after appearing at Sandy Bay Court in Jamaica on Wednesday.

He was staying with his girlfriend in a hotel in Lucea, Hanover, in northwest Jamaica.

The woman he allegedly raped approached Mr Games and his girlfriend by the hotel’s main pool and asked for a charger around 8pm on Oct. 25, a police report said.

Games offered to help but insisted on taking the charger to her hotel room.

Once inside, he asked her for a cup of coffee before pushing her on the bed so that she lay face down and forced her to have sex with him, the report added.
