Aaron Carter’s final texts with manager reveal he was ‘optimistic’ about his forthcoming album
Aaron Carter’s latest text messages with his manager revealed that he was optimistic about the future and the release of his new music.
Taylor Helgeson, Carter’s manager, was one of the last people to text the singer before he was found dead in the bathtub of his Lancaster, California home on Nov. 5.
Helgeson recalled his last conversation with the I Want Candy singer the night before he died — and his excitement over the release of his new album which he planned to record in Los Angeles this month.
“He was so excited, he was extremely optimistic,” Helgeson said the american sun. “It had been a few years since we released Love, and he felt ready to do another…it was the first time in ages that I’d seen him this excited. He had more [to give]and he didn’t give up.’

The night before Carter died, he had invited a friend to his house to start recording for his new album – but the friend never made it.
In one of Carter’s last messages to Helgeson on Nov. 4, he had texted his manager to check in.
Helgeson said he asked the singer how he was doing. To which he replied, ‘I’m just going back home. I was in LA. All good. It will be better.’
Carter later reviewed the songs for his new album and added, “Holy s****! The new album, what the f***? This is definitely a Grammy!’
The manager replied, ‘Yes, and you deserve it.’
‘Enormous! Our best work yet,” Carter last said at 6:32 p.m., Helgeson told The Sun.
Carter would later call Helgeson – but he couldn’t answer because he was on a plane. The singer then called another friend and invited him to his home in Lancaster to record the vocals for the album.
“From what I heard, it was around 9:30 PM,” Helgeson said. “But he never got to the house.”
The singer would record his new album this month with Danish producers.

Carter started acting out of character leading up to his death, including missing important meetings
Helgeson said Carter felt like he could handle all the problems in his life.
“This album would be him who would own everything,” Helgeson said. “He would take responsibility and he felt that would be the best way to do it.”
Carter started acting out of character leading up to his death, including missing important meetings, according to Helgeson.
“He wouldn’t miss a show for the world if he could do something about it,” Helgeson told the news channel. “Over the past few weeks he’s been missing some things, and that was so uncharacteristic of him, and I was upset.”
At the time, Helgeson Carter was putting on an intense, tailor-made rehabilitation program when he began to fall off the wagon. He even confronted Carter when the star went live on Instagram and was seen “huffing.”
Carter previously admitted to having a panting addiction, but told Helgeson it wasn’t real.
In an earlier interview with DailyMail.com, his public relations officer Holly Davidson revealed that the pop star wanted to resolve his children’s custody battle before going to rehab.
“I want to get better and I’m trying to be better, but I can’t do it now,” he told ITC PR’s Davidson.
“He set his priorities in handling the courts over his son, the new music and life,” the assistant told DailyMail.com. “Then he wanted to go to rehab.”
Carter was in a protracted custody battle with on-again, off-again girlfriend Melanie Martin, the mother of his 11-month-old son Prince.
The rehabilitation plan was conceived with addiction counselor Brenden Borrowman, co-founder of ReBoot, a drug treatment center in Utah. According to its website, ReBoot uses “proven military behavioral science” to develop self-esteem and positive behavior.
Borrower said Aaron could be saved
“I really believe that,” he previously told DailyMail.com.
